Sometimes the 'gems' are not right in front of us.
Often we have to look a little deeper. We pass right by the beauty in life on a regular basis in our haste to get from one place to another or to move from one point in time to the next. We miss out on what we might otherwise discover if we only see what is on the surface.
To get to the 'good stuff' we have to dig a little deeper. This is not only true in nature but also of the people we come into contact with on a daily basis, as well as on a deep level, in our personal relationships.
It's so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day hustle and bustle of our busy lives. Perhaps sometime this week make a concerted effort to slow down, take a deep breath, and really notice where you are. Is there something around you that you hadn't really seen before? Is there someone in your life who might need a few extra minutes of your time? Give it a try once or twice. See what 'gems' you might discover.
