Valentine Spray

My favorite time of year is early Spring. I love what is new and undiscovered. The thought of what-could-be. Not just in the nature that we are surrounded with and how that changes every day, with each new blossom, every new baby bird, all the new leaves popping out on the trees, but with what 'could be'. I've never been inclined to make New Year's resolutions. I'm still reeling from the holidays at that point and don't find the energy to be thinking ahead.

But in early Spring, I just naturally feel inspiration all around me. It's when I start to plan for the year to come. With so much natural vitality all around me, the thoughts and ideas just seem to pop into my mind on a daily basis. I love it!

I feel like Valentine's Day is my un-official start of spring. When I was in grade school, I always looked forward to the classroom parties and exchanging those little corny cards, my mom would bake and decorate cupcakes for the neighborhood kids, and would heat up applesauce and drop in red colored hard candies. Yum!!

This picture, taken at Filoli in Woodside, California, just looks like a Valentine's Day card to me.
